Musical Guests Announced for March 30 Service
As part of our ongoing Lenten Prayer Services we will host guest musicians Liz Felsted and Peter Douglas. Please help us welcome them to New Castle and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with your attendance – 7 pm, Wednesday, March 30.
Liz Felsted Peter Douglas
Clarinetist and pianist, Liz Felsted, recently graduated from Ball State University with a Doctor of Arts degree in clarinet performance and secondary emphasis in piano performance. During her studies at Ball State University, Liz performed extensively with the Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, and several chamber groups. She specialized in the E-flat clarinet, recording several solo pieces for this instrument in tandem with research for her dissertation. Originally from Florida, Liz attended the University of North Florida for her undergraduate degree and Michigan State University for her master’s degree, both in clarinet performance, where she studied with Guy Yehuda. Liz currently works at Goshen Junior High School as the choir accompanist and private clarinet and piano instructor. In her free time, Liz enjoys coffee, going to the beach, and spending time with her cats, Clara and Berlioz.
Performing as a collaborative pianist, organist, and solo pianist, Peter Douglas has established a career as a versatile performing artist. His performances have taken him throughout the United States and globally to Europe and South America. Douglas is currently a doctoral candidate (ABD) at Ball State University (Muncie, IN) pursuing a Doctor of Arts Degree in Piano Chamber Music and Accompanying. He received a Master of Music Degree in Piano Performance from Ball State University and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Piano Performance from Baldwin Wallace University Conservatory of Music. Douglas serves as staff pianist for the Ball State University Chamber and Concert Choirs, collaborative pianist for Muncie Masterworks Chorale, and organist/pianist for First Presbyterian Church (Muncie, IN).
